History by the Minutes

The history of our town can be seen in our township documents. Running stories recur about the challenges of our self government and anecdotal incidents provide glimpses of the changing (and unchanging) qualities of our life in Boston Township.

A complete record of township minutes dating back to 1811 can be found elsewhere on this site, but here we have tried to offer an overview or synopsis of what can be found in those more detailed records. The first section is an overview of the Township Books of Record, 1811-1934, drawn together by Trustee Randy Bergdorf. The second section is a year by year review of the events and issues portrayed in Township Minutes from 1948 through 2009, written by Fiscal Officer Joanne Noragon.
